Engagement & Couples photography on the Oregon Coast is an adventurous session experience. With so many incredible beaches, hikes and viewpoints to choose from, you are sure to have pictures that are one of a kind. Beautiful locations in Cannon Beach, Short Sand Beach in Oswald West State Park, Hug Point and other scenic viewpoints overlooking the rocky shores of the Pacific Ocean. Capturing fun, natural and dynamic images to be cherished for generations. During your session we capture a variety of photographs that reflect your personalities and the love you share with your partner. A great way to warm up to the camera before your wedding day. I help with posing and directing fun actions that create natural expressions and laughter for genuine images. You will receive an assortment of styles and creative photographs that showcase your love and the spectacular scenery of the Oregon Coast.
WHEN TO RESERVE YOUR SESSION & WHAT TIME OF DAY
With the mild year round temperatures on the Oregon Coast any time of year can be fantastic for your engagement photography session. Each day can provide a variety of dramatic lighting. The driest and sunniest months tend to be July-September. There can be weeks of sun in the middle of winter as well. If there is some rain on your session day we can find the next available time or photograph at one of several more sheltered locations. Sometimes just waiting an hour the weather can completely change. I would recommend my sunrise or sunset session for your couples photography, although any time of day looks amazing on the Oregon Coast. You can choose from available times directly on my session booking calendar.
LOCATIONS
There are an abundant amount of amazing beach locations to choose from. In some cases the best location for your session may be the beach where you are staying. The convenience of walking out onto the sand and meeting your photographer can work really well. If you are looking for a more private beach, Ecola State Park or Arch Cape is a great option. For forest, beach and waterfalls, Hug Point or Oswald West State Park/ Short Sand Beach are pristine locations. Haystack Rock in Cannon beach is always favorite! Manzanita & Rockaway Beach have wide open beaches and sand dunes with views of Twin Rocks and Neahkahnie Mountain. Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City is a must see if you are in that area and provides a beautiful variety of scenery. Oceanside, Neskowin/ Proposal Rock and the 3 capes area is yet another set of gorgeous locations. Any location on the Oregon Coast produces amazing and creative photographs.
WHATS INCLUDED
With each session you can count on a large variety of whimsical, creative and charming photographs with you and your loved one. Each session includes 70-150 digital edited photographs posted to an online gallery where you can download, print and share from. My engagement sessions generally last about 1 hour which is enough time for 1-2 locations. We can photograph a variety of beach and viewpoint or a location like Short Sand Beach were there is a little of everything. Old growth forest, creeks, bridges, a waterfall and a gorgeous sandy cove beach.

Honestly, probably for the first five minutes. Then most couples realize they're simply spending time together while we document it. As experienced Oregon Coast engagement photographers, our job is to make the experience feel relaxed, natural, and surprisingly fun.

Choose outfits that feel like you, just slightly elevated. If you wouldn't normally wear a ball gown to the beach, now may not be the time to start. Neutral colors, layers, and comfortable clothing tend to photograph beautifully on the Oregon Coast.

Many couples book their session 6 to 12 months before the wedding. This gives you plenty of time to use the photos for save-the-dates, wedding websites, or announcements. Booking early also gives you the best selection of dates at popular locations like Cannon Beach and Pacific City.

A little cloud cover is actually one of our favorite things. Some of the most beautiful coastal photographs happen under dramatic skies. We keep an eye on conditions and help make the most of the day.

Of course! The Oregon Coast is a wonderful place to include your four-legged family member. Dogs are always welcome at many of our favorite locations, including Cannon Beach, Arcadia Beach, and Short Sand Beach. Just be warned: they have a habit of becoming the unexpected star of the session.
